On my electric start 25 hp Yamaha I installed a Bob's trim and tilt plate as my motor is a short shaft on a G3 1648 Jon and can trim it out as well as go super shallow by trimming up. Way better than a CMC model and if you shop the internet you can get one a few bucks cheaper than strictly off Bob's. Had it now 2 yrs using the heck out of and works like a charm.

So is mine. When the motor is installed on the trim and tilt plate it sets a inch or 2 higher than the transom but it also sits back about 5 inches and the roll of the water from underneath of the boat as it's moving is elevated over the bottom of the motor to compensate for the raised height. As you run you trim your motor and plane the boat out for a perfect run as well as better fuel savings plus increased speed of a couple mph. If you have electric trim and tilt, makes it super easy to untangle any line that may also get into the prop. Us old geezers can have a problem of lifting that motor up while on the lake.

Ahh I see what you're getting at. They do look nice but a lil outta my price range. That's a good bit more than I paid for the motor.
    Maybe one day.....
