Default Question on white bass and sunfish

Wanted to see what others thought on this but I have noticed when shooting docks if I catch sunfish or white bass the crappie seem to be minimal if any. So my question is this does the presence of other fish specifically white bass and sunfish scare off the crappie?

The only thing that I have caught that seem to run them off are big catfish or carp. I will be catching crappie fairly steady and then nothing. A few minutes latter you are hooked into a sizeable fish. After a little time they come back to the dock. Possibly the commotion from catching the crappie brought the bigger fish in for a quick meal

I’ve noticed what you described. Some cover only have gills, others have only crappie and once in a while a big top may have both but will still be segregated .In general they seem to respect each other s space.

White bass and Sunfish seem to move farther and quicker to a bait . Maybe your not fishing right depth . I have seen brushpiles on some lakes if we did not get baits down fast a Striper , Yellow Bass or White Bass would grab it . But if you got down into brush we would catch a Crappie .

Thanks for the reply interesting that you have noticed the same. It continues to reign true with me as well as I continue to notice the same pattern.
