Unpainted are fine with me but I sure like a Hot Pink too. Really helps my old eyes track where I'm pitching to.
Painted jigs are a distraction from the main lure whether soft plastic, fir, feather, etc. Color theory falls short when fish are caught using many colors on the same outing and catching a bunch. Wed. I caught 110 fish using many colors and many soft plastic lures - all on unpainted jigs. (for photos see the post, what makes fish bite.)Jig heads for plastics? If i use 100 jigs this year, 98 will be unpainted. Plastic is what they are looking at

I used no paint for years. I only started painting when I traded jigs for a slip in a marina. Now it’s just a habit.

I like a bright Chartreuse and also a hot pink. But I'll tye on a plain Jane head just the same.

Been poured/painting heads for about 25 years. The most popular is sales has been: chartreuse, b. Orange, red, pink, black, and white. Just started painting the disco colors and really like them…….
