    Default Resources/threads about fish behavior?

    Hello all:

Just joined the forum from central-PA and looking forward to learning a lot here. Just started fishing for perch and crappie last year so have lots to learn. Can anyone point me to some resources or threads to learn about what fish are doing at different times of the year and how to target them?

Is fishing this time of year (mid-March) pointless or can I still get on them if I can locate them? When do they start spawning? Other info about their behavior like the type of terrain they prefer, water depth, etc.

Like I said, I’m brand new to this so have a lot to learn. Thanks in advance. :-)

Welcome to you from SE Ohio.

The entire site is chock full of info on different subjects. You can use the search tool to aid you in your research. There is a member from PA (chaunc) who fishes Mosquito and Pymatuning a lot and posts pretty regularly. I would suggest posing your question to the Pennsylvania state forum page as well. It would be helpful to add your intended method of fishing (boat, bank) and where you might be wanting or are going to be fishing. Good luck chasing those Crappie this year!

Welcome from East Tennessee. You Tube is also another good resource. Quite a few of the members here have fishing/ how to videos there
The love for fishing is one of the best gifts you can pass along

As some have mentioned that YouTube and this site is a good source. Ive picked up some good books over the years and read those, there is one from In-Fisherman I read that was phenomenal, talked about fish habits during each season. If you’re interested I’ll get the name of it and send it to you.
