I've tried a bunch of different brands over the years, and right now I'm using Vicious Panfish Hi-vis 6# test Copolymer line and have been for the last several years. Inexpensive at <$8 for a 2360yd spool (online vendors).

While it may not be the "best" on the market, it has served me well over the years.

Thanks I’ll check them out and give it a try. I was coming close to buying some red Cajun line made by zebco have you ever tried that brand by chance?

I have not used red Zebco Cajun line, but I have used red Maxima line & promptly took it off the reel after the first time using it. It was just too "wiry" for my taste.

Prior to going to 6# Vicious line, I'd been using 4# Stren Gold and before that it was 4# Mr Crappie line (USA made) ... with a preference towards the Mr Crappie line. I only switched to Stren Gold, back then, because the Mr Crappie line was (then) being made in China/Taiwan and reports were made saying it wasn't as good as it "used to be". I liked it over the Stren Gold because it was "softer" & less likely to kink up.

x2 on Gamma panfish. Best I’ve found. Have used it for 5 years now along side my braid. 2nd choice would be Vicious panfish. Used it for years before Gamma.

I also prefer Vicious. Tried Gamma and it seemed good but way more expensive. I change line frequently.

I am strictly an UL angler using light lines..meaning 3# test or less. I've tried a lot of mono lines over the years. I would take a look at the Varivas nylon lines...Twitch Master VLS and Super Trout Advance lineup.

    Regards
