I would think so. As the weather cools they will be moving to more shallow waters following the baitfish.
There is a inlet near me that connects to a larger river (the Pimmit run to Potomac River) and I was wondering if that is a good place for crappie in late summer/early fall (I’m in VA). If not that should be a good place for bluegills and other sunfish right?

If you can find some blow downs or submerged brush give that a shot too.

Defidently w the down trees. I love fishing a downed tree cause there’s always fish there. Haven’t done much brush though thanks for the advice. Looks like it setting up to be a good trip

Upon a quick look up on google, it looks like where pimmit run enters the potomac makes a slight bend. I can see some downed trees (granted don't know how old the image is I'm looking at) but with that run entrance and the river bend should be a good place for drifts to build. Also looks like some good sized rocks.
Minnows or minnow imitation lures on the smaller size should produce mid way of the water column.
But of luck, let us know how it goes.

Should I try and go near the downed and the bends at the mouth of the river? I have some worms and was also planning on using Mr. Crappie white 1/32 ounce jigs and the trout magnet jig.

Sounds like a good plan to start.
They key is to find that first one. Depth and speed of lure, remember what what they were and duplicate after catch.
