question about using multiple rods

Everyone has their own opinion. No need to bash someone for theirs. I’d rather feel the thump myself. But I don’t diss anyone for spider rigging or any of that kind of fishing. Just a matter of opinion.

Dont knock anything till you try it! Spider rigging can be extremely exciting! And watching a couple rods is no different than watching a couple of floats! I enjoy catching fish and I work a full time job monday through friday and some saturdays. Sundays are for the lord so I rarely fish on a sunday. So to catch fish when you get the chance you have to be very versitile in your methods of fishing. Most of the year its hard to catch a crappie from the bank especially around here so you may have to spider rig, longline jigs, pull crank baits, power troll or push crankbaits. If you want to effectivly catch crappie year around you have to have a large bag of tricks!

It's not the Equipment it's how you use the Equipment.
We fish Deep clear water lakes in 5 ft of water one minute 50 ft the next very hard to keep adjusting up and down spider rigging!!
Can be done!! Long lineing is better will and does catch fish!!
Really like casting 2 & 4 lb test and JDM Rods better.Think the crappie like it to

Any time you are hooking fish is fun! To me, there are different degrees of fun.. and spider rigging/trolling, float fishing, and bottom fishing are not my favorite but I still do it and enjoy catching fish that way to a point. And like I already said, rigging can be very effective! Heck I spend a lot of time bottom fishing for catfish in the summer, talk about low-skill fishing! But its still fun and effective to catch some fish!

I really really enjoy feeling that tick of a crappie eating a jig, but you will see me trolling quite often throughout the summer! It's just that feeling of adrenaline when you know you just tricked a fish into eating a piece of plastic on a piece of lead/steel because of the way you worked it with your hands. Its addicting.

As for not catching crappie from a bank so need to troll, you can jig fish out in the flats too if the schools are not roaming. Plenty of times I've trolled into a school then nothing for a while, then when I got back to that gps spot the fish were still there. So out comes the jig rods and we sit there and cast jigs in the middle of nowhere catching fish. Talk about strange looks from other anglers! That just speaks to your last statement though, have to have that bag of tricks! A one trick pony will only win one award.
