I'm new to crappie fishing. I've caught them before using a 1.5 inch swim bait but I'd like to know what are some good lures and tackle to get at Wal-Mart.

1/16oz marabou Road Runner (solid chartreuse or any of the "chicken" versions)

Arkie Solid Body Tubes (w/chartreuse tails)

Mr Crappie Shadpole (Junebug/chartreuse - Tuxedo Black/chartreuse glow)

    1/16oz weedless jig heads

You might also want to look at some of the custom made creations by Crappie.com members ... like Snake River (bob's jigs) or Slabeye (Slabanator jigs)

I bought a kit from a store that was liquidating. It is made by south bend. Only bad thing is that they look cheap.

I love the SOS line in both 2lb and 4lb. Great for crappie and trout
