    I would add that most COE dams have a release schedule published on-line, as well as a phone number you can call for the release schedules. Become familiar with the schedules, check them before you go, and remember, due to unforeseen circumstances such as power demand or mechanical breakdowns, they can begin an unscheduled release at any time. WEAR YOUR PFD! Often it is mandatory anywhere near a dam.
