Prayer Request Crappie fishing on Okauchee lake in Wisconsin

Am new to this site and looking for anyone that fishes Okauchee Lake for Crappies.

Also wondering if anyone has any info on the fish I see on my Hummingbird locator in 85-90 feet depths. Am seeing three different depths of fish 40-45 feet , 60-68 feet and 75-80 feet have no idea what they are or what bait to use, any help would be nice.

GO4 .... I'd ask about a specific lake on the state forum where the lake is located.

As for the fish showing up at 40+ feet deep .... does the lake ever have a thermocline set up in it ??

I have no idea on the temperature vs depth as I have no way to measure it.

I did post in the Wisconsin forum as well and it does not seem to be a location that has much traffic on it.

Your electronics can show you a thermocline, if it's well defined ... it would appear as a fuzzy band at the same depth across the screen of your depth finder. Other than that, there might be a DNR site or COE site that monitors the lake & may take readings of temps & Oxygen levels at various depths .... but, they're usually taken at the dam, so the actual depths of the thermocline may vary a little over the lake.

From what little I did read about the lake ... it would appear that the major "traffic" on the lake is the "party crowd" (yeah, I know, that's not what you meant ... but, clear water and heavy boat traffic could lend to the fish staying at abnormally deeper water than normal)

I did check here : Lake Levels ..... but that lake is not listed.

The only thing I could find about Crappie in that lake is that the DNR netted them in shallow bays when water temps were in the 50's ... and even that info was from 2014

I'd likely try around any pads, submerged weedlines, and under docks if I were fishing the lake (concentrating on water no deeper than 25ft).

With the lake seemingly being touted as a Musky, Pike, Walleye, & Bass lake .... information & reports on Crappie may be hard to find. You may want to check with your local baitshops, or email the Conservation Officer or DNR rep of that area for more recent reports. And if there are any Crappie guides working that lake (or area) you might get some info/reports on their websites.
