I've never liked the Palomar knot. I use the Becker knot:
Fly Fishing West Georgia & Beyond
Dont take my word for it-
but I purchased 3-4 brands of flouro in an attempt to solve "my" issue with breaking knots. Long story short, I never did and gave up.
The benefits of flouro are less than the hassles of knot strength imo.
Its odd, tons of people rave about it. A guy I work with did too, and after struggling with flouro and knots I eventually had him tie one in front of me. I broke it with 2 fingers. He did several more that we also broke. He shrugged it off as a mystery I guess and I let it go as to not (knot? lol) offend him.

Gonna add a little to Techno2000's post. Get you some Fluorocarbon line and follow Techno's instruction. Tie a jig at each end and then tie a loop in the fluoro. Tie the loop about 2/3 the way between the two jigs. This will make one a little longer than the other and they want tangle. The flouro is easier to tie the loop knot in because once it's tied it want slip. Tie the main line to the loop and your ready. Tie you up several doubles before you go fishing and when you break off just grab a new rig and tie it on. This is the way I rig doubles to speckled trout fish in and for long lining

I have no problems with fluoro breaking. I have caught some monster bull reds on 20lb fluoro leaders and nothing that swims in the fresh water lakes I fish has that kind of power including stripers. I tie crappie leaders on 8lb Berkley flouro doubles on 6lb main line. You can use a little heavier leader because flouro sinks and is invisible. I may break off a bunch the next trip I take but to this date I have never had a crappie break a fluro leader

I don't use "double" jig rigs, so I haven't gotten around to using these ... so I cannot give an opinion on how well they work.
