I use breathable stocking foot waders. (Boots are separate.)
Wading can spook fish, but so can a lot of other things. You just can't clomp around like a Clydesdale.
Been using waders last couple of years but find them hard on my feet. I like the built in boot kind because they don't make a wet muddy mess but the sock foot may be better for the long walks.
Also do you think wading spooks fish?

Had 5mm Red balls for many years,(sock type) in Mn putting in docks when the water was 40* the thicker Neoprene was a life saver...They died at the hands of a Nasty mouse family
A couple of years ago I got a set of Frogg Toggs with the Thinsulate boots moulded in...Didn't like the way the boot fit, an old timer friend of mine suggested to add padding where the boots were tight or uncomfortable and going after those areas VERY GENTLY I REPEAT VERY GENTLY with a hair dryer...Mine are now so comfortable I forget I have them on...Heck last spring I fished all day in the boat...and was looking for them when it was time to load up.....And I still had them on Under the life vest...
I'm with Death on the no Clydesale stomping wading is more like skating under water than walking

just bought waders, not expensive and when i tried them in water they fit fine. will use my shoe strechers in there to give me a lil more room but didn't rub and I don't walk far anyway. LOVE wading for spawning crappie and don't spook them at all, use your 10 or 12 foot rods and you are good, tho 7 footer is fine too.
sock foot may be lighter,so it fit to the long walks.
