Going fishing on Cotaco Creek April 13. Creek is about 12 feet in most places. Thinking that I should fish the fallen tree structure that is all along the creek banks. Is this a good method or should I try deeper more open water? Thanks for the help in advance.
Find the banks with the least amount of current and start fishing "over" the deeper ends of those downed trees, and work your way in shallow where the tree enters the water.
Personally, I'd run a 1/16oz Roadrunner a couple of feet under the water & over those trees, to start with (from as far away as your casting distance will allow). Then I'd probe the deeper ends of those trees with a jig, all the way up to the trunk/shoreline connection. Then I'd work the bank between trees with a Roadrunner, as I went from downed tree to downed tree.
