Thread: Skinny Water (2 Acre Pond) Southeast Kansas 3/17/18

Our johnboat was getting pretty beat up and taking in water Friday so we did some metal work and sealed rivets on it Saturday morning. Thus I ended up wading Saturday evening. My legs weren't cramping so I estimate water temperature to be around 63. Jerk bait was good Friday but I couldn't keep the crappie off it . Saturday was a different story. Ended up catching (and releasing) 24 bass 1 crappie. Sorry no pictures of fish because I was wading. Caught 4 very respectable fish 6 and 1/2 being the biggest I laid hands on. They heard my voice in the next county when I lost the one that broke the center hook on this jerk bait. The bite is getting good... Oh yea, I about forgot; I should have wore shin guards because 4 of them slammed head on into my legs after release. After the first one did it I started pitching them out as far as I could and some sill got payback.

Lately I've caught as many cats on a jerkbait as bass.
