Default Drag on a bait caster

Should you back the drag off when your done fishing
And not going fishing for a while ?
I hear that the brake can get stuck or freeze up.
    Any input on this ?

I still don't "always" do it .... but, to answer your question --- yes, you can compress the drag washers by leaving the drag set for long periods of time. Loosening the drag while in storage will help stop "jerky" drags caused by washers being compressed unevenly or compressed to a rigid condition.
