I heard alot of good thing about these rods, but those prices are sacry to say the least. I have a couple of st. croix premiers and happy with them i can get a good deal on a used loomis was wondering if the warranty would carry over to me? any thoughts.

I wont buy new GLoomis rods because I only use St croix rods but a deal is a deal. If the deal was presented to me at a darn good price I'd buy it.

Warranty should be good as far as know. I know St croix doesnt care who sends it in to be repaired...Rebel

Loomis has always been a top name. when I first heard about them, and my brother had a rod made, Loomis was a blank only company. Never heard any bad about em.

From what I have heard, Gloomis rods have broken on hook sets. Considering some anglers hook set harder than they should I can see this happening. I also hear E21 carrot stix have had the same problem. This may all be true or not. Havent encountered anyone who can actually confirm these comments of word of mouth.

I stick with St Croix because of the warranty and upgrading offered by St Croix, plus it makes it a heck of a lot easier buying new rods when you stick with one company. Bottom line is confidence and satisfaction with whatever rod you use.

$125 sounds like a great deal. enjoy the new rod. ...Jack

    dgi,
You have a heck of a rod there, you will love it. I own many loomis rods and never have had one break.

Ive never broken one using it. I did break one closing a lid on it. The warranty will transfer to you. They sent me a rod overnite and I sent the broken one back in the tube they sent and postage was paid. Ive had great service from them. Billy

I have broke 1 carrot stick setting the hook but they have a lifetime warranty so I took it where I bought it and exchanged it with no problems.I love my carrot sticks and also have 2 of the Skeet Reesce crankbait rods and they are awsome and also have the lifetime warranty and cost much less than the carrot sticks and lommis.
