    Default Truck hood stuck

Man, I'll tell you it's been one of them mornings. Been raining off and on every day for a week. Any way, Had to go to the mobile home parts store this AM. trying to get some stuff done before the rain started. Popped the hood, checked oil. needs changing, but only 1/2 qt low. closed the hood, looked all the way down. went all the way through the mobile home park. got out on the road and went two blocks...Wham. Hood flew up. Had to pull on the hinge point where the flat coil spring is on each side. got the hood closed, but wouldn't close all the way. turned around and went back slowly so it wouldn't happen again and took mommas Jeep.
went and did what I needed to do. Got home, went to see what was wrong with the truck hood, and now no matter what I try it won't open.. Help, Help Me PLEASE!!!! Has anyone else had this happen and had to fix it???
Almost forgot, the truck is a 1995 f-150 standard cab. Thank you in advance for any help...

I hope you got it figured out. When I have any 2005 f150 questions I go to F150forum.com

No I haven't yet. But it looks like I'm going to have to cut the grill out so I can get to it and see where it's stuck. I have a Pick and Pull auto junk yard a couple miles away. I need to get a new hood anyway, I'll just add a grill to that list. My son-in-law and one of his biker friends are coming the first weekend in June and I'll have some help swapping the hood out. I'll take a scan through the F150 forum and see if I can find any help there. Thank you for the reminder about them as I forgot all about them.

Thank you RobertFL for the suggestion. I found an old thread from 2008 with a fix to get the hood open. Will attempt to apply the fix tomorrow when I'm a bit refreshed.

Well, I finally made the time to see about un-sticking this hood. As the thread in the F-150 forum said, their are two bolts that hold the latch mechanism in place, well actually there's 4, but you only need the two closest to center. remove one and start loosening the other the other. The spring tension will push the hood up when loose enough, then release the safety catch and lift the hood. Replace bolts and tighten. Just remember, once hoods up, pull hood release inside truck before reclosing hood, otherwise, you get to do it all over again. Thank you again for the suggestion on the F-150 forum Robert.

Maybe check into one of the floor foam mats as DSJ suggested. Glad you got your truck hood unstuck.
