Default 2016 Silverado Brake Fluid change

Alright guys, I could use some advice. The owners manual recommends doing a brake fluid flush at 5 yrs. As I understand it, you have to activate the ABS module using a scan tool in order to get all the fluid out. So has anyone done theirs?

    Thanks in advance,
    ArtyB

I have done it on my 2013 twice. Fluid that comes out is nasty.

Did you have to use a scan tool to activate the ABS?

I use a turkey baster to suck out brake fluid from the master cylinder every year.

I’ve seen where guys have done that. Makes sense and I actually bought one of those for that purpose.

    Thanks for the feedback
