    Default 2001 f150 trailer wiring

Hey guys I just bought a new boat. It came with a electric power jack and lights on the trailer that come on in reverse. The guy I bought it off of has a chevy avalanche. I have a 2001 f150 the power jack doesn't work on my truck neither does the led backup lights on the trailer. What could the problem be. could it be something with the auxiliary wire

You'll have to check for power at the plug. Chances are the fuse for the aux power is missing, or the wire is simply not there at all, if the truck did not come with the factory trailer package.

Which plug do you have? I just replaced the lights on my boat trailer with LED with backup lights and had to go from 4 flat to 5 flat for trailer connector. My truck has a 7 pin connector so I had to also buy a new adapter.

My cover over my 7 pin plug has a wiring diagram. On my GMC truck I had to connect the 12v constant and put a 40a fuse in. For reverse lights it was plug and play. They are different circuits.

I had a 2001 and had to add a fuse under the hood for aux power.

well I got the led backup lights to work when its in reverse. It was missing a relay for it. I still haven't figured out why The power jack doesn't work

On second thought it may have been a relay instead of a fuse. It has been a while.
