Default Low Coolant light comes on

    2002 Chevrolet Suburban
low coolant light keeps coming on add water light goes out , been doing this for a while !!!
so today I went out to the truck pop the hood added water to a cold coolant tank , then looked under the vehicle and notice water coming out from what looks like the area under the coolant tank !!! could it be the tank or a hose ??? I never started the vehicle , once it quit leaking started the vehicle drove it a few miles and the low coolant light came back on the temp stayed normal ???

Possibly a sensor in the bottom of the tank leaking

Sensor is part of the tank.

There will be days when the fishing is better than one's most optimistic forecast, others when it is far worse. Either is a gain over just staying home.

Either the tank itself, or there is a Y-hose that runs from the water pump, and splits off the the heater core and coolant reservoir. The Y fitting is plastic, as are the clamps. They degrade or split and cause leaks. The whole replacement hose assembly is about 50$.

You should also replace the plastic heater hose connectors on the firewall while the system is empty. They are known to fail after several years of use.

Look for the drain cock. It might be loose.
