    Default Smithville Dock Fishing

I heard that rangers were issuing tickets for fishing from the docks? I remember some of the docks said "NO FISHING" in a clear sign, but no where does it say that anymore. Is it true you cannot fishing from any part of the docks at the marinas, even if it does not clearly state "NO FISHING?"

I think it's really unfair to even issue tickets for fishing from a dock, and even worse without proper warning.

Signs are under walkway. Also employees should be telling you that you can not fish there if they see you. They’re pretty reasonable as long as you follow the rules. It’s that time of year when they get lots of boat traffic so folks fishing on docks are considered in the way.

They only allow fishing from the public part of the docks during the slower winter season. There is a dock at Crow's Creek boat ramp that's open and free all year.
