    Default Conservation/water patrol?

We have been checked for fish and licenses by the conservation officers and safety equipment, registration and other boat things by water patrol. Do conservation officers ever check the safety equipment and stuff or is that just for the water patrol? Does water patrol check fish and licenses? Just a question that came up on our ride home after trip to MT Friday and was checked by conservation officer for fish and license.

Conservation Agents have the authority to check/write tickets for safety equipment violations and Water Patrol Officers can write tickets for fishing violations. Mostly both groups stick to their main focus but will step into the other officer's shoes if they come across something that's obvious. They both have their primary functions and typically stick to those as routine because they have more of their own work to do than they have time to do it.

Thank you. Was just curious. When on a long drive you discuss a lot of different things. Sometimes they make you go HMMMM.
