Default Missouri River map before it was channelized

Does any one know where I can get one? I want to compare it to what it looks like now. Have a couple of spots that we want to know if it is where the river use to flow or happened in the 93 floods. I think it is the old river channel.

I saw a paper once by Dr. Dave Galat of the University of Missouri that mapped the levee breaks in 1993 and compared them to historic river channels. Over 90% of the levee breaks were where the historic channel crossed the levees. So the answer to your question is likely both. The spots you are interested in probably were historic channels and in 1993 the river went back into them.

University of Missouri has plat maps in their digital library on line, but the maps are from the 20's and 30's

Try the army corps of engineers, since they in charge of levee system. They should have or at least know where you can get a hold of old river maps, charts, or even surveys
