I think it makes no sense to have to mark your poles that you are fishing with, troutlines
/limb lines/ jug lines yes I agree. I am not going to leave my boat in the lake with my poles in the water fishing and not be with them. They are in your reach /possession at all times. Dumb rule if you ask me. I have mine marked with copper tags I use on my traps but if someone goes with me its a pain.

I'm sorry but I don't understand these rules. 99.9% of the time I fish by myself. I can only use one ot two rods but there is 8 or 10 rods in the rod box. How does putting my name on my rods help anybody? They are all my rods and I'm the only one in the boat. I am 74 years old and becoming afraid to go fishing any more because I might have an illegal something... it may be an unlabeled rod, or something else... for example I have a heavy 18' boat that a 18 year old all American athlete couldn't paddle 10 feet, but if I don't have a paddle, I will get a ticket.

I have a push pole that is handy but the paddle has rested in it's nest for 10 years and never been used... but it is a requirement...and if I didn't have it I could be fined and sent to Jail.

Sorry... but I just do not understand how these laws help anybody.

You do not have to have rods that are in your rod box that you are not using labeled. It's only if you are actually fishing with more than 3 rods at a time that additional ones need to be labeled.

I have never had a paddle in my boat and I could not find anything in the Water Patrol Manual that said a paddle was required equipment. I always get an annual safety check from the local water patrol officer and they have never mentioned a paddle to me. A paddle would be useless in my boat too.
