    Default New to crappie

Hey guys, just downloaded the app and I have to say I知 proud to live in 2020 with such genius apps and softwares. I grew up cat fishing and occasionally bass but am just now getting into crappie. I know some of the basics on where and when to find them but I知 here for a very dumb question. How do you know what depth to put your bobber at when using minnows? Also, if you guys have any nice crappie spots in case for me to check out that would be awesome.

Hi Hippie ! Bobber set depth can depend on a multitude of variables. Generally speaking in warming water I would say to 2.5 to 3 feet is a good place to start. Warmer days they may move up ; cooler days they may be deeper but you never really know until there are some on the stringer... Try different depths on different rods to hone in; such as 1 rod at 3 feet and another rod at 4 feet... During spawn they could be as shallow as 1 foot. In your neck of the woods spawn is about 3 weeks and a couple warm fronts away. If you want me to I will pm you the best bank fishing spot on Melvern that I know of.
