    Default Shad Kill

Craig today we stopped down to the boat ramp at the Dragoon off of 75 highway and was really surprised to see dead shad everywhere that we were able to see. Some were badly decayed and others looked pretty recent. Never witnessed this before, got any ideas, please. DK

Shad got caught in changing water temps that caused a lack of oxygen. Unfortunately, it happens all too often in the early spring

    DK,

Sorry for the late reply. I did call the Fisheries Biologist that works Pomona and passed your info on to him back when you first posted it.

He replied that he was aware of it and it was winterkilled shad.
