    shortdraw,

It should be out any day now. Data has been submitted and compiling was completed last week so should see the Forecast in the very near future.

Craig if you know who puts up the forecast on the site could you see if they can start putting a date that it was last updated on there. They did that in the past and always found it handy to see right away if things changed. Thank you

Craig, another question regarding the fishing forecast. Several of the lakes I fish have both black and white crappie, and when I'm fishing I really don't care which species bites my hook. In order top obtain a "crappie" fishing forecast for these lake that contain both species, can I add the numbers for black and white crappie. For instance, if the lunker rating for blacks is .5 and for whites 1.5, is the lunker rating for "crappie" 2.0 for that particular body of water, or is that an invalid use of the data?

Thanks for any info you can provide.

    skinner80,

I forwarded your request on to the KDWPT IT Section Chief and he reinstated the date stamps on the Forecast pages.

You should be good to go now!

Yes, you could add the values together to get a "combined" crappie rating for a lake. The Density, Preferred, and Lunker ratings are numbers of fish of a given species of a certain length caught per unit of effort. A unit of effort for crappie sampling is one overnight trap net set.

Okay John Redmond is rated number one in state in Density and just about everything else. Does anyone fish JR for crappie. I have fished up Otter creek a couple times in the past without a whole lot of success. In the lake itself there are no drop offs just gradual small depth changes. The steeps breaks are near the dam. I am just wondering where these crappie are. They raised the lake level by two feet and there is a lot of land now covered with water lots of cover but very shallow. I guess a guy is just going to have to give it a go and see what happens

Since the new forecast is out just curious how much it affects your decision as to where you fish.

Reference JR, check the dam. Back in November I saw an impressive stringer coming out of there from some shore fishermen that were towards the gates.
