Default KS Boat Property Tax article

A bill to lower property tax on boats is to go before the legislature this week. You can read more HERE. The higher tax rate has been a hot topic for anglers/boaters for years.

I sure hope this bill gets approved it would more than make up for the "over 65 license exemption " being removed. Kansas boat owners do pay way too much personal property tax and it just goes on and on and on! I'll bet this is one change of the law that all fisherman can agree on....young and cocky and the "entitled grouchy old farts" !! Come on Kansas legislature do something positive for all us outdoorsmen and women.
FAITH, FAMILY, FRIENDS & FISHING...... hopefully in that order but honestly, not always!

The property tax on boats here in Ks. is way to much.Being a volunteer worker for the Kdwpt at El Dorado Lake I can't tell you how many people I talked to and seen that live here in Ks. but have there boats registered in Ok.

I was a boat owner when I lived in La. and paid no property tax on any of my personal toys.

Lived a lot of places bouncing around in the army and I will say the whole personal property tax still is something I do not understand and something I like even less....

Must be feeling the sting of a new boat, and the sting just keeps on coming. Its just not right.
