As you stated more and more are leaving this sport, we should really help that buy charging them. And who is most likely going to pay that license fee, probably the grandparent that is taking there grandchild out on the weekends a couple times a year. Now i know its not the old retired guys problem worrying about the future of our w&p since you guys will be done using it when it really gets in trouble because hardly any of this generation hunt or fish.
I did not attack you personally so please return the favor.

Dan no one is entitled to anything. KDWP wants more money to do what ever they do not make a case for the need just "we need" I for one do not feel like just blindly handing over my money to them. Then should have been planning for this situation for a long time. Oh yea they had a plan, stick it to the old guys.

So who taught the current politicians in office now? Well the Secretary of State is 45 years old, so that would make his parents about 65 or 70. So you can say thank you to your generation that taught "unwritten moral obligations and promises that were inferred and not written in stone or law".

I didn't realize the Secretary of State was the originator of a request for me to part with my money. If you choose to throw money at any entity without questioning or asking for some facts as to why, what happened and how can we insure that we can make something better you are entitled to do that. Never forget that some of us fought on foriegn soil to give you that right, and you may even be one of those who served your Country. We also deserve the right to question that request, we earned it too. I see it as a request to part with my money and I want some transparency, I want to see results from the past and I want to see where you are headed in the future. You support a plan to have a few pay more and trust to the word of the politicians that it is neccessary. If it is in as bad a shape as anyone says it is, then there should be lots of facts to back that up. We are not as bad as you would portray us, If neccessary then lets fix it. I don't want a patchwork program to keep it status quo for a few who seek short term gratifacation. The plan offered up does not address this long term. You want to see huge improvement, then lets fund it but lets demand yes demand improvement. You support a plan that offers up the aforementioned short term, I offered up a big money plan that would double the funding now received, all I am asking is show me where we've been and show me how your going to get there and then stand by your pledge, quit switching up the game mid stream. Why would you not support progress but will accept status quo. Would you run your business with the goal to remain status quo?
If you buy into the offered program, again that is your right. Some of us are not buying whats offered up and that is our right because we don't care nor are we impressed with titles. We realize that those in power were put there by the majority at the time, but that doesn't remove the fact they work for me and you, I don't work for them I pay their salary I expect more. I don't know about you but if you want my money, I better be able to see some fact as why you are trying to part me from it. Some of you call that entitled, and being human beings we point the finger at some group and lay blame, we all pay for entitlements to someone but for someone to point a finger and say you are the entitled without looking at the broad picture is no more than the pot calling the kettle black. The majority will win out end of story. All of us on here thumping our chests and touting how we are stewards of a resource that we want for our kids or some other entity are full of it. its greed pure and simple. You just like me could probably name a hundred instances where you've seen a waste of our resource because some clown under the name of good steward or sportsmen is out there destroying it. how bout the guy that says quit puttin my money into walleye, i'm a crappieguy or a catfish guy or a wiper guy and I don't want my money going there. Ever see any fishermen throw fish up on the bank or bounce em off the front of their boat because it is not the species of their choice and then claim the title of sportsman? What gives this sportsman the right to rip the gills out of a drum or carp in front of a young person with the claim, you don' want these they are trash. They may be considered trash by a lot of "sportsman" but name me one child that wouldn't want to do battle with a 5 pound carp. Thats why I don't buy totally into the "lets make it better for the future children". Pure BS. There is a whole lot wrong with the current system and not all of it is an easy fix with money. you want more controversy? No offense to any guide on here or any other place in the country, but why do we allow a private enterprise to make money off my tax dollars with no oversight at all? Where's the demand for that accountability. That is not directed at just fishing guides as there are a lot of hunting guides out there using our tax money for profit. I merely use these situations to show that the system is indeed needing help, again all I'm asking is transparancey, accountability and progress. Fire away!!!! It's not as simple as some would have us believe.

imajigger2, Do you know how many fishing and hunting licience's were sold last year? I wonder if they were to raise that price if it would make up the monies they say their losing out on.I think most would be willing to pay $40-$50 bucks a year to fish and leave the 65+ and children out of this.

I'v been trying to find something that could tell me what a fishing licence cost in 1980 when I started buying them.If I remember right it was 14-16 dollars?I'm curious if the cost has risen the same as everything else?
