    Default Clear Lake in England

Hi, I am new to Crappie.com. Love to fish Conway, but does anyone here ever fish Clear Lake and or Plum Bayou in England. A buddy and I have been 3 times. Mediocre results but bunch of medium sized bluegill. A few 3/4 lb crappie nothing huge yet? Where's the best area on this lake? I hope I get a chance to meet some of you.

    Default Howdy

Howdy Pan, never fished these lakes but knew a fella who used to catch a lot of crappie in a lake near England, possibly one of those you are inquiring about, so you have some good fishing there closeby, wish I could provide more details. Good luck fishing and look forward to any fishing news you can provide on your area.

never fished those areas, but they are close to my home in Scott. I might look into it if the rain ever lets up.

Clear Lake does have some nice crappie in it, as well as plum bayou. Plum bayou is a pretty place to go fish, but with all of the rain, it gets real muddy. that has a tendency to scatter the fish.
Clear lake should be getting close to the spawn. It's very similar to the lake that I live on, pretty shallow, and the water temps are perfect, they've been between 59-63, but the rain and changing weather patterns have kept the fish very scattered, and best I can tell, they have not begun spawning yet. I've checked every day to see on my dock, & have been in the boat also, but have yet to catch them up on the cypress trees yet.

I have'nt fished Clear Lake in years. My dad's uncle ran the boat dock at the Indain mound for years there. I remember some big Crappie from the 1960's.:o

clear lake is a little west/south of england. You would turn on 161 @ the 1st red light in town (coming from LR). It is about 2-3 miles outside of town. plum bayou is right behind it.

Plum Bayou has public launch, but Clear Lake is private launch with fee.
