Tony, I just wanted to give full disclosure – I’m heading into my third year with Bull Shoals as my home lake, so I’m still learning the ropes. One thing I’ve noticed is there’s timber everywhere, and a lot of it is pretty big. I’m based on the southern end, and while we’ve caught some absolute slab crappies down here, the numbers just don’t compare to what folks are pulling in from the northern end.
I can’t personally recommend any resorts, but if crappie is what you’re after, I’d steer you toward the northern part of the lake, likely up in Missouri. That’s where the action seems to be. Once my wife’s Alzheimer’s progresses to the point where a move won’t disrupt her, I’m planning to relocate up there myself.
Regardless of where you fish, Bull Shoals is an amazing place to be out on the water.
