Default When is a jig worn out ?

Last several trips on 4 different lakes I have caught fish on a red 1/4 oz hand tied jig .The body wrap came off first and now head is getting loose on it . Fish don't care and lost count how many tried to eat it . Kept a limit again today with big fish at 16'' . Takeum I guess I should have kept track just how many Crappie this jig has caught . Boat flippin them with a Huckabee Stryker rod till the hook breaks or I lose the jig .

Use it until it stops working or the hook breaks

My dad is 81. He & I have a great retired friend, P.R., who takes Dad fishing with him from time to time when I'm at work during the week. P.R. changes jig bodies several times during a trip......there'll be 5-10 jig bodies laying at his feet when he's done. Dad picks them up and re-uses them. One trip, Dad was wearing P.R. out and he asked him what he was catching them crappie on so fast. Dad said "I don't know what you call it......I found it laying in the bottom of your boat."

I'll tell you all this.......I've had very good luck with the new Bonehead 2" stinger tail bodies you can get at WalMart. They are tough and a lot more durable than Bobby Garland's are. I think Bobbys are getting softer than they used to be. Marketing strategy, one might ask?

If you want a tough long lasting plastic bait look at Limits Tackle on Facebook. Also, another good long lasting plastic brand is Constant Pursuit Outfitters.
