Default AGFC on passive fishing devises

    AGFC Fisheries Division

Spring is just about here, and anglers are getting excited to start setting out jugs, trotlines, and limb lines to try and catch themselves a good haul of fish. While there is nothing better than seeing a dancing jug and knowing that there is a nice-sized fish waiting at the end, anglers need to ensure that they keep track of their gear. AGFC personnel pick up thousands of trotlines, jugs, and limblines each year. The passive fishing gear left in the water can get stuck in boat propellers, harm wildlife, and create hazards for people. So don’t be a litterbug and pick up your jug! Information regarding the use of these gears can be found here: Alternative Fishing Methods

While noodle fishing can be fun and effective way to catch catfish. It wouldn’t hurt my feelings if it got banned due to the problems. Litter, getting wound up on boat props, killing non target animals.
This will probably happen at some point due to people leaving them out too long without checking.

I stay with my gear while it soaks. Every effort is made to recover all the noodles that I dropped in the water. Here we are limited to 25 per person. It has to have your name and phone number or your TWRA number
The love for fishing is one of the best gifts you can pass along
