    Default Flash flooding

Looks like after the ice storm ground was soaked . This big rain event will raise the water levels quickly . Looked at Gravely gaging station above Nimrod and we got a big rise headed to Nimrod Lake ..There goes fishing for awhile . But just normal for this time of year . All the creeks are running big in this area.

Here is a photo from Scott County . Fouche La Fave River above Nimrod Lake is rising fast . Tomorrow the water will be hitting the lake and it will rise fast too .

That’s a lot of water. Trash a lake up real quick with that much pouring into it.

Water level up almost 14' and still rising . Guess it will mess up fishing . Took a buddy in the rain on Tuesday and we did good . More small fish than I been catching . Kept limits and released plenty of nice ones . Total catch was 157 Crappie . Afraid it will be a few days before lakes settle down now .

Last time we had water that high down this way there were large propane tanks broke loose
and slamming in bridges. Y'all be safe.

Seen Nimrod lake go over spillway at 373 msl several times and normal is 342 msl . Actually went 6' deep over at 379 once and COE had to pull plug cause it was about to flood town (Plainview) upstream ! If I remember correctly that would been 37 feet above winter pool !
