We flyfish low water and jig fish high water. Been a while but Little Red fishes very similar to the white, would suggest Bull Shoals State Park just below the dam, or the park in Cotter.

During the hot summer months we keep our RV in that part of the country and trout fish. In my opinion those cooler water temps make for a more enjoyable day than most crappie waters at that time. Grizwilson made some good suggestions. However, your might want to also consider the Norfork river and the White river south of the town of Norfork as the crowds thing out quite a bit from the other locations. While we are back to chasing crappie now feel free to send me a PM and I can give you more info, good luck to you and your daughter.

Only place I've fished the White river is at Sylamore creek about the boat ramp area. That's at Allison, north of Mountain View. Did good on worms and grey crickets from the bank.

They ain't here yet. I've been staying at a cabin for the past 7 weeks right at Cow Shoals. It should come on big in next 3 weeks or so. I did manage to get one quality brown last week....see pic. I have however been killing the rainbow...many days a fish on every cast.

I was on the White near Calico Rock on the 21st and 22nd and it was my first time trout fishing. My family was fishing with my buddy's family which has been before, so he taught us how to rig and fish for them. We did very good with everyone in our party catching their rainbow limit both days.
