Default Artificial structure in fresh water

Just throwing this out there for everyone's feelings. Especially guys that fish on Corp lakes that are so big and deep and a lot of original structure is long gone. In the industry I work in, we have been selling to charter fisherman on the Gulf Coast for 30 years now old and/or wrecked poultry cages. They are all stripped of aluminum and the fiberglass floors. Charter Fisherman have taken these and sunk them off shore for the start of artificial reefs to fish over, its their "honey holes". if you've chartered a boat and fished the Gulf, you were probably over one and didn't know it. This would naturally not done on a individual basis but through the Corp and I don't know the ramifications of salt water vs fresh water. Kinda like they use the "Mossy Back" attractors now. i am going to try and attach a link with this as well from Youtube. These cages I think would be a long lasting as awesome place for shad and small fish to be protected, lots of internal wire to protect them. Regardless of your thoughts either way, its a neat video to watch

To search on Youtube in case this link dont work. search "GoPro Life on a chicken coop"

GoPro Life On A Chicken Coop.mov - YouTube

Hopefully Matt from the AGFC could give a biology stand point as well....

"Cast your net on the right side of the boat and you will find some." When they did they were unable to haul the net in because of the large number of fish.
Maybe we are just on the wrong side sometimes.....

I sure have better luck on natural (trees, etc) vs man made brush piles (pvc, etc) I have put out. Not sure why?

I would think the natural cover would produce a thicker layer of algae. Possibly even a different kind than would grow on man made materials
The love for fishing is one of the best gifts you can pass along
