Don’t know anything about Lake Desoto but Lake Ouachita is not far from there.
My wife and I will be staying at Lake DeSoto June 14-18. Was looking for input on crappie fishing in that area for that time of year. DeSoto any good or would something else close by be better? May bring boat, haven't decided yet. Any info you could share would be much appreciated. Thanks!

Do you have lake access with reservation? Village lakes require property permit. If you bring boat and have never been on Ouachita, it’s a beauty. Bream bite should still be good in area

I sold my place in HSV after thirteen years due to market being so hot. I fished every lake in the village and never did to good fishing for crappie. The best lake i have fished was Nimrod lake which produced many limits of crappie. I have fished pulling cranks (bandits) minnows under cork and also southern pro tube jigs and if you read previous post fron screen name Nimrod you will learn alot. Lake Q is a beautiful lake that my wife and i have taken many of rides on, nothing like 975 miles of shoreline, just need to be careful of the trees sticking up in the back waters. I would also checkout Greeson and has cabins to rent with plenty of waypoints to fish. Hope this helps and my wife and i plan on going back to HSV it's a beautiful place to live.
