I want to fish area lakes and need suggestions. Possibly looking for guide. Forum is totally new to me. Any coaches for a old man? Not new to fishing, just a few years of self learning crappie.

Welcome to Crappie.Com from Fayetteville. I would highly recommend Greggs guide service he has spent a lot of years on Beaver and know the lake very well. his number is 479-601-1683.

Across state lines licenses would be a good investment as Ark/Mo offers great nearby choices

    Welcome aboard Dan Dan.
A lot of information on this forum from styles, equipment, techniques, etc.
There is not a lot of specific info on NWA lakes but a bunch of knowledgeable members that are eager to share info to help you along.

    Boat or bank fishing?
    Single pole? Spider rig?
    Electronics?

    I spider rig/ push jigs.

First, put the pictures of the stringers of slabs out of your mind unless you want to drive 150 miles or so. Lots of 9 -10 inches but other than private the big ones are elusive. Toughest quadrant in the state.

Crappie bite twice a day. 15 minutes before I get there and 10 minutes after I leave.
The two loudest sounds are a gun that goes bang when it is supposed to go click and one that goes click when it is supposed to go bang.
