    Default Norfork

Where are they at this time of year? We had very good luck fishing brushpiles in the middle to backs of the creeks in 25-40 FOW during November and December, brush piles would be just loaded with fish in and around the brush, but it just seems like they’ve disappeared. Fished today and we just didn’t see all that many at all. Looked at probably 15-20 different brush piles with livescope today that had all been holding fish and all but 3-4 were slim pickings. The ones that did have some fish on them wanted nothing to do with our baits. Not all that worried about the fish we did see not wanting to bite (water was 39-40°), but just can’t figure out where they went. Halfway wonder if they’re out roaming chasing bait but didn’t see much bait out scanning and what bait we did see didn’t have any fish under them that we could tell.

Where you fishing with minnows or plastic, minnows make the difference. Find the steep banks and drops in the river channels. That's where they are on Bull Shoals.

Both, just couldn’t get them to play when we did see them. Went back out today and found some fish out moving around on brush but had a hard time getting them to bite. Caught 6 or 7 only one keeper. You using small minnows I assume?

Ya small ones. Thought we would be seeing bunches of dead shad on our lakes after the freeze. Have you been seeing many?

Messed up and didn’t pay attention to the minnows we took with us this week and they were bigger than I typically like to fish, and I figure that had a lot to do with it. We put in at Quarry and I figured the same thing, but didn’t see hardly any. Very few birds working anywhere either.
