Cleaning them seems to be a big deterrent. Getting around the bones and then getting the red out. The United States is the biggest waste of food/resources of any country in the world.

We do eat them. Their ribs are almost as good as buffalo. just not as much meat on them as a buffalo. But they are good and crispy. Now the filet is mega bony, well just like a buffalo. It can be done but takes too much time for the amount of meat you would get off of them in comparison to other fish. We do use the filet as cut bait for catfish and do really well on that. But I will say.......You can literally take a throw net and fill the boat to the rim in less than an hour. And on my graph they are like bees and are EVERYWHERE!!!! In my opinion if everyone with a fishing license caught a boat load of em every day they still would not be eradicated. Thicker than hogs in texas!

I just do not know what the answer could be to fixing this problem.

Suprized someone not raising hogs on them . Used to feed fish scraps and trash fish ( German Carp , Drum and ect ) to mine . Along with some corn they grow like mad and bones don't bother hogs .

I thought the same. There used to be a man that came around camp at Sardis getting all the fish scraps from the camp cleaning areas to feed his hogs. Said they loved it!!!

Thats an idea. It would take alot of commercial fishermen and 100x the hogs. Maybe they could make it a nation wide business.

So they quit guiding on Washington ? No . Did lowering the limits to 15 get people quit catching multiple limits a day ? No . They put new length limits and that helped ? No . Having lived on Enid 14 years and Barnett 5 years I Believe lack of enforcement is the main culprit . Ever seen someone driving a car over the speed limit not slow down at the sight of blue lights ? No . Unless there is a tournament or the spawn you see very little warden presence . State legislature is take a lot ,give minimal in funds to manage . When you have rules and regulations and openly do not follow your own mandates .Do not expect the average joe to follow fishing rules especially with no enforcement .

Well said! In support of your comments, I fish Sardis very often. I've been checked once there in past three seasons. I fish Arkabutla some and haven't been checked there since the high fishing pressure period there in 2012.
