Default Brrrrrrrrrrrr water temp @ 40 degress at 9 am

Took a buddy fishing and man it was cold . No wind made fish spooky . Some on wood and some shallow suspended . Started late because of low temps . The air was below freezing and water 40 degrees . Most bit that top secret jig in purple/chartreuse . Still swing that bait with a Phantom 13' rod . Numbers down but made up for with weight . Biggest 7 was 13.49 lbs .

Dedicated fishing there! If you’d had wind, fish may not have been spooky but would definitely been colder

About calmest day all year .Water looked like a plate of glass most of the day . Not good in shallow water .

I should know this but are you committed shallow water year round or just based on conditions?

Purple and chartreuse? You joking? I didn't know you had any other color in your box.

    Congrats on a good day.

Depends on water level . lake and conditions. What I have told folks for many years , some fish live their whole lives in shallow and some live deeper . Through hottest summer or coldest winter .

Agreed. Crappie are marginally predictable at best.
