Do the math on the lake you are fishing.

We have a few flood control lakes that with high water ever spring never seem to run out of small fish . I have Carpel Tunnel and mostly quit cleaning fish but release or give them away . Depends on the lake but on a few I just quit keeping them . We have gotten to the point where a large per centage of fishermen have the best electronics , tackle and time to catch plenty of fish . I used to never see Crappie fishermen in winter and most were the in spring . Could be this Covid or maybe more fishermen retiring but our lakes are under extremely more fishing pressure .
