Unless the commission really looks at this we will see a slump . They only adjust regs every 2 years after studies . . Just what I was told . If I just complained no one would listen .

Just a thought and spoken with brotherly love for all. Why reduce limits that effect those who fish and cannot afford, or choose not, to utilize livescope. If those utilizing live scope is the negative cause and effect on the fishery ,then reduce the legal limits for those utilizing this technology. Often we desire changes based on our over abundance of blessings from God and forget those that haven’t these blessings. Upload apologies to those this thought might offend. Appreciation to all those who faithfully serve in our wildlife agencies. In closing, Nimrod I enjoy your fishing posts buddy and still have can different views in life. Blessings to all.

I see the point you are making NIMROD. You are only keeping your legal limit and at least your aren’t just filling a freezer with fish you will never consume. You are sharing your catch. I think your post has achieved your goal, attention.
Conservation efforts are going to have to adapt to technology and increased harvest. And not just on small lakes but on all lakes across the country.

CA's problem is that he likes to fish! LOL I get what he is saying. I've seen guys with livescope figure out how to catch fish on a particular lake and they just hammer it. One of the things about livescope though, it is not as easy as turn it on and start catching fish. The user must have the ability to read the screen if and when they get it set up correctly. Then they have to find the fish. There has always been those that do not follow the rules. As my dad would say, "Their off button ain't working real well!"
Healthy discussions such as this one with different viewpoints is a great start to teaching all of us a few lessons or at the very least to give us a good reminder to limit what we take to just what we need. We also have to help remind others to do the same. It's sportsmanship.
As many fish as there are in Nimrod, CA alone can't hurt that fishery in my opinion. But we can't blame the falling of a species on something like electronics. Once the Asian carp hit Kentucky Lake, it was pure gloom and doom. For several years it was tough. Where did all those big crappie come from that they are catching over there this year? One of nature's cycles I'm thinking.

Should be a way to lower limits for people fishing with guides or something. Guy like me gets very few days to fish due to work and going to reduce my limit on the few days I get on them. I don't have live scope, can't justify it no more than I get to fish. Just my opinion on the subject.

Mr Flatbottomarky most of us were catching plenty way before livescope . But once it is learned it changes the game . It makes catching easier and can single out big fish we were missing before . I am an old timer with poor eyesight . These young guns with good vision and grew up playing video games are deadly with this technology ! I see spider riggers dropping that method over livescope .

Guides can not legally transfer their limit to clients if it puts the client over a legal limit that day. Some take several on a trip with kids to make a haul . Mississippi fixed that with a boat limit . Saturday I saw some bank fishermen and fisherwomen as I was leaving . Pulled in and signed my fish over to them . They just wanted to catch supper . Another guy on the lake caught a few coming in just ahead of me . He said I decided I did not want to clean any . I had about 15 but released them . I saw dead fish floating right where he quit right in front of the dock . Rather see a family fed myself . I see same guys loading their boats about every trip and If they are keeping fish ever day why should I not . I give mine many times to people struggling and often give them a few baits along with some tips . I release mine on some small lakes getting too much pressure or just go find another place to fish .

Filled out a paper to make it all legal .When you see ever boat around you but one boat or bank fishermen catching . It feels good to share your catch . Most are shocked when they ask how many I want to keep . I gave them my limit and most are thankful as they would go home empty handed otherwise .

Been seeing this for years lol. But he gives them away to folks who can’t or aren’t able to fish so that makes a difference.

Keep what you need, its that simple.

Conservation should be a pinnacle note for all avid fisherman; however, it doesn't work this way for many. Its pure Greed. They can have a freezer stacked and racked with two year old fish and still continually pull fish just because they can, just staying within the legal laws that we have. The limits set weren't designed for the scope or for so many to have such a high catch percentage and changes will come. Its coming down for the "highly successful" anglers that obviously have everyday to decide where to fish, for them to make an ethical decision, but some folks clearly don't have the values to make it.

I think D10 said it best, its just not a good look and I figure he is gone now because of it.

Attended numerous Garmin and Hummingbird seminars and pros all say same thing that they had no idea how many fish there are beneath surface but still triggering bite is not guaranteed. Many on this board act like fish are gone after just a few years of this high technology......someone’s trying to sell some units or someone’s singing the blues....something’s gotta give.
