    Default Tough times

Been fishing black river oxbows for a couple of months. Nothing gigantic but usually 15 decent fish. Monday a couple of weeks ago we took a dose of minnows because I saw where someone posted when it gets hot minnows do better. Well, that day we caught about 50 or so with a few nicer fish. Went back Thursday and caught 8. Saturday 6. Today another 6. Dropped in about a gazillion good looking holes in about 25 laydowns from 3 to 10 feet deep. Where did they go?? Tons of shad but I have not cleaned any with shad in them. Thought about trying to chase them with livescope but have no idea where to start. Wassu

Crappie bite twice a day. 15 minutes before I get there and 10 minutes after I leave.
The two loudest sounds are a gun that goes bang when it is supposed to go click and one that goes click when it is supposed to go bang.
If you rob Peter to pay Paul, you can generally count on Paul's vote.

That's what I figured but having a hard time figuring where to start. Livescope or side imaging? Oxbow is about a mile long and has been loaded with shad. Look under the shad or just put down the livescope and head out. Probably just leave the rods alone and devote time to looking.

I just get live scope set out 40' forward and run trolling motor till I see a big one and usually several of them in a certain area . Pitch to them . Just drop the trolling motor and keep moving watching the scope ! Most of the bigguns were suspended yesterday !Name: 117629982_574516739882563_7606149231060912237_n.jpg

That's what I figured but it's hard to go and leave the rods broke down and go looking. Even harder to expect your fishing partner to go along for what may be just a boat ride. May have to go solo. By the way, thanks for the advice.
