Default Live scope is awesome but not bullet proof

My good friend Terry came over and pulled my boat today . Trying to tutor him on live scope . He has been catching a few with his . Water was still extremely high and mostly clear . Never had so many follow a bait and not bite or just peck it . We caught pretty good till some time afternoon it got real hot and the fish just disappeared . We had so many dinks 8 to 10'' grab the bait when we pitched a jig to fish on the screen . Caught several Drum too . When the fish got hard to find we returned to where we started but finally seen so few we threw in the towel with 48 nice fish . Same Huckabee rods and Timmy Tom insert jig heads on Umbrella tubes in purple/chartreuse . I used the Phantom 13' and he used the Slab Swinger 12' poles . Was hot and tired , we pulled boat in garage and he left with a cooler of fish , forgot to take any photos .

I just wish Garmin would stop messing around with software updates. I had to revert my GLS10 software back to a previous version due to ghost tree and other issues.

Agreed it is not bullet proof Nimrod but the percentage of time it serves you well sure does seem ,at least,to be pretty danged high.I have been chomping at the bit anxious to invest in livescope...Would already have it but had a "bump in the road"...eventually I will.

What size jig do you like to use and do you use braid line to get it to show up? I am having a little trouble finding it with mono. I am going to try an egg sinker up the line a foot to see if that helps.

A split shot a foot above jig helps see it and makes it fall faster if needed . We were just using 1/8 oz jigs with tubes but no weight. Fishing edge of flooded brush in about 30' of flood water ! Most were suspended 10 to 15' down in water column. I usually run depth deeper than water and forward 40' . But yesterday since we seen them suspended near flooded trees and no need to look out far . We set 20' down and 20' forward view .

Our lakes are flood control . They been over full several times last several years . Awhile back the fish moved out and suspended over 40' of water ! Normally they are mostly shallow till we get a flood .
