Oxbows off rivers are my favorite. On lakes most guys fish around and under docks.

Originally from south Louisiana where the water is very shallow and lots of cypress trees . I have no idea where to begin fishing for crappie up here. Catch a couple now then . Maybe a few little bream or goggleye . Getting a little frustrated. Wife and I retired and moved up here last June. We’ve been fishing Greers Gerry Lake. Help please ! Do we need to go to other lakes?

My advice is to google “Catchin Crappie Guide Service”. Wayne Stewart is a crappie guide (the best in my opinion) in Greers Ferry. Call Wayne and tell him you want to learn to fish Greers Ferry. It will be worth every penny. He specializes in long lining (trolling) fish spins and crank baits.

I like your John Wayne quote. I used to use it all the time to make a point with my kids.
