    Default Willow Beech Ramp closed

Went by this morning and saw the ramp was still closed. I know it was closed last year during the floods but dang is this permanent closure to the public now?

I assume you are referring to Tull's Lake? Willow Beach is public and is open as far as I know. If not, then disregard the following info, lol!

I did a lot of research about this a while back and this is what I came up with. Tull's has always been private, they just never took the time to put up a barrier or gate to keep the public out. Several years ago, the old man that owned the lake and surrounding land, including the ramps, built a subdivision on a section of the property, or sold it to a contractor (not real sure about that part.) Anyway, the buyers of the homes paid a premium for the houses because they were told that they were buying property on a private lake. They were, but they didn't own the ramps, Mr. Fulkerson still owned that and he never made any attempt to put up a gate or regulate who accessed the lake. The homeowners always threw a fit about the general public having access. I guess they couldn't get enough people in the neighborhood together to pitch in for a gate. Instead they called the game wardens out there on a regular basis. Tickets were written but always got thrown out because the actual property owner wasn't the one making the complaints and never showed up to press the issue. Eventually, the game wardens stopped coming out there and it was just treated like a public lake for years. I heard that when the old man dies the land goes to his daughter and she will shut it down. Last I heard he was in his 90s so......
