I've been thinking about making a trip to Erling. I've never been there. Is there a public ramp on the lake? Thanks for any info.

There's only one free launching ramp, it's not necessarily a public ramp, but is provided by Agred who owns the lake now. You'll go north on Hwy 53 from the Hwy 160 intersection, it's where the Lake Erling Country Store is located, then look for the sign on your left for the boat ramp. Most locals call it "The Park" it's on the lower end of the lake.

Thanks. I want to make a trip up there in a few weeks. It's about 100 miles.

My two suggestions for a guide on Lake Erling would be either James Harvey or Buddy Barnheart. Both are very knowledgeable about the lake and of the crappie habits of the lake. You can reach James Harvey thru facebook @ James Harvey and for Buddy Barnheart @ Buddy Barnhart .

There is a utube dude name Russ that has a channel called brushpile fishing. Anyway, he uploaded a video of an Erling trip a couple weeks back that looked fun. Fyi.
