Default High water , spooky fish and wind

I wanted a change so I fished a lake that was high and rising . Fish were moving a lot and chased them down with livescope . Moved around a lot looking for big fish just never found em . No two pounders any way . Had a couple nice ladies in a big camo boat from Altus pull up to meet me . They had saw my Crappie.com sticker and recognized me from my posts .
Fish were in some areas and other areas I saw none . Couple spots where I saw none even asked guys there how fishing was . They replied no good and I told them the fish were not there . Easy to see them on livescope if they are many there .
I caught and released about a limit and kept a limit for a neighbor that asked for a mess of fish . Several fishing brush could not believe they were not biting but I was steady catching in the open . One guy even asked to hang on my boat and see it on livescope .
The fish were moving a lot more than usual , guess high rising water . Still using Timmy Tom insert jig heads with a purple/chartreuse Umbrella Tube .
One guy asked about the length of rod I was using . If you got closer than 20' most spooked .Been flipping out 20' from trolling motor . Since I am about 5' behind trolling motor means over 25'. I am watching some shallower fish spook if jig hits too hard . Using a Huckabee Phantom 13' livescope rod. I have several feet more line out in my hand longer than the pole flipping a jig . If I go past that use a spinning reel on a Huckabee Hot Rod and cast to them . Most everyone I talked to was saying it was tough yesterday . I livescoped mostly at 20' with forward view set on 40'. Most fish in open water 18 to 20' suspended at 8 to 12' . The ones fishing brush were mostly using rods about 11' or less . Too close fish spooking .

That’s great info for those of us without Livescope!!
So, if anyone was spider rigging with rods less than 20 ft long they were spooking the fish. I would have just thought I was doing something wrong if I was fishing there and not catching.

    Hey Nimrod,
You have me wishing all the time I knew just a fraction of what you have forgotten about fishing.
Yes,I know I am hard of hearing but fishing without Livescope and having your understanding of what the fish are doing makes me feel like I am fishing BLIND also.
How in the world have I ever caught a fish.Must have been the old hog and acorn saying...
I will speak for myself but know others on CDC feel the same way.Thank you Kindly for your posts and your fishing information sharing Nimrod. You make CDC alot better than it would be without you.

I fished the same lake Tuesday I believe and they were not interested in what I was throwing at them. I even threw your same bait as above. My daughter and I got there around 2 and stayed till about 7. I was able to dip one fish out of the water but my daughter quickly labeled it a sardine. The wind was pretty rough as well but I saw plenty of fish suspended in open water.

I think I saw the same two women you are talking about but on Sunday fishing the flooded brush. Large, nice, aluminum camo boat if I remember correctly.

I didn't try casting to them. I tried rigging and dipping to no avail.

High water, spooky fish and wind.

    Bad day,

    Only 2 limits.
Crappie bite twice a day. 15 minutes before I get there and 10 minutes after I leave.
