Default Had a good day chasing white bass Friday

Had the day off Friday and decided to see if the white bass were running. I have never seen more of them spawning. We caught quite a few but 90% of them were small males. The handful of big females were fun on a light action rod and 4# line.

I love catching White Bass. The hey get a bad wrap but they sure put a god pull on the line. I wish they tasted more like crappie though.

Me too. But since they don't, I don't take them home. I've got a buddy though who grills them and he loves them.

i used a Damiki light action rod, 4 pound line, and southern pro creek spins with a slider grub. My buddy tried all sorts of things and didn’t start catching them until he tied on a creek spin.

Ive still never caught a yellow bass.

What if - crappie fought like white bass or what if - white bass tasted as good as crappie. Good job i bet that was a lot of fun on the light tackle.

Nice job, I use the white bass for entertaining the gkids and wife.
    They really do fight!
Heck if it’s slow, and they blow up summer time, I’ll go get my line tugged! LOL
